Spectator Information updated 15/06/2021

Sarsfields GAA are delighted to welcome back our teams and supporters as well as visiting teams and their supporters.

Spectators please read the following information

1.     The use of face coverings is required for all patrons over the age of 13 (including those who have been vaccinated).

2.     Spectators must not enter the field of play at any time, whether pre-match, at half-time and other intervals or after the final whistle or at end-of-match presentations

3.     Spectators should keep their own record of contacts at a match for potential tracing purposes.

4.     You should download the HSE Covid Tracker app

5.     Spectators must not attend games if they display any symptoms of Covid-19 and instead should phone their GP and follow public health advice.

6.     Individuals that are considered high risk or are in close contact with others who are considered high risk should not attend games

7.     Much of the responsibility for managing Covid-19 risk remains with you the spectator, particularly in relation to social distancing, the wearing of face coverings and sanitation

8.     Spectators should bring their own hand sanitiser.

9.     Smoking and vaping is prohibited in all areas inside the ground for all staff and spectators to avoid congregation in semi covered areas and for public health reasons.

Match Attendance

For adult club and inter-county matches 100 spectators will be permitted to attend GAA games (except in grounds with a capacity of greater than 5000, where 200 spectators will be permitted)

This number is in addition to players, team personnel, stewards or media attendees. It is hoped that up to 200 spectators will be permitted from July 5th (except in grounds with a capacity of greater than 5000, where 500 spectators will be permitted)

Please note - for underage games, where parents are attending in a child-protection capacity, they will count as part of the 100 spectators permitted to attend.

It is imperative that all spectators (including those who have been vaccinated) adhere to social distancing guidelines when traveling to games, arriving at the ground, at the ground itself, when using toilets and facilities and when leaving the ground and traveling home.

Avoid congregating in groups at all times!

Spectators should be aware that in attending GAA, Camogie and LGFA games not all the risks posed from Covid-19 can be eliminated but that essential control measures have been put in place to reduce risks for spectators.

Player Information

All players and any parent must complete or renew a Health Questionnaire on the day prior to coming to Sarsfields. This can be done on returntoplay.ie. Please follow the step by step guide linked here.

Underage Parent/Guardians

As we return to play in Sarsfields Gaa we have two very important messages:

• In light of the recent cases in schools in Newbridge I will be sending an email to all coaches reminding them of the importance of following the guidelines and asking them to tell parents a child MUST stay at home/away from Sarsfields if

          1. They feel unwell

          2. They have been told to stay away from school

          3. They have tested positive

          4. They have been identified as a close contact or

          5. They are awaiting a Covid test or result.

• Can you please make sure that your child(ren) 

           1. Registered on the return to play system

           2. Have had completed the Health Questionnaire on their behalf (even if completed last year you will have to                           register again on the updated system) Health Questionnaire form

           3. Are added to each team that they play with

           4. Have the health Questionnaire reconfirmed on the day they are returning and on the day every time they attend                   Sarsfields.

Safe Return to Gaelic Game – Updated 16/04/2021
The GAA has announced the return of underage training from April 26th 2021.
If you feel unwell or have any of the listed Covid-19 symptoms please stay at home and contact your GP.

We all have our part to play

An updated version of the Covid-19 Guidelines on Safe Return to Gaelic Games has been issued on April 16th here.

Also available on the GAA website is a section on Covid 19 Roles & Responsibilities for all involved in our games (Club Executive, Coaches & Team Personnel, Covid Supervisors, Players, Parents & Guardians, Supporters and Referees) which can be found at learning.gaa.ie .

Before returning to training all players (and parents/guardians of underage players) and mentors or anyone attending training or games must complete
1. The GAA Health Questionnaire (which can be found here)
2. An online education module from the GAA (courses.gaa.ie) which takes 20 minutes. A screenshot of the certificate of completion of the module must be sent to the Covid Supervisor. This does not need to be repeated if completed last year.

While normal training and contact will be allowed on the pitch, social distancing and hand sanitation must be maintained off the pitch and the session will be “get in-train/play-get out” until further notice.
A traffic and access plan has been put in place for all 4 pitches with hand sanitation stations available at the entrance to each pitch.
In their Covid-19 policy for clubs the GAA has outlined a differentiation is being made between close contacts and casual contacts. With dressing rooms and club facilities to remain closed for the time being, and transmission believed to be 19 times more likely in indoor settings, team-mates of a player who has tested positive will be deemed as ‘casual contacts’ – unless it can be established they’ve been in close contact, most likely by being in a car or through a social setting outside of club activity.
